about
While I have concept projects in the works, I made this track a single because frankly I'm just not sure when I'll do something quite like it again (And maybe I hope I never do since it came from such a place of pain.) I had written a dark electronic industrial track in an attempt to portray the kind of anguish I had been experiencing, battling personal hardships and PTSD symptoms about a year ago. About a year later, I had moved out of state, gotten completely sober, cleaned out some rowdy cob webs in my personal life, however my PTSD symptoms we're actually spiraling out of control. The numbness alcohol once provided me was gone, and the things I had been running from in my psyche had turned my life into a nightmare. (Not exactly your uplifting "how i got sober" story.) I felt robbed of the joy of life, and after a recent and severe resurgence of PTSD symptoms, I ran to my make-shift studio (to try to deal thru art, as I do) and decided I finally knew where this track was going, and so a year later it took a turn I was not expecting...
Much like life, and much like the symptoms of PTSD can suddenly subdue you against your will, and much like my life recently, this track becomes suddenly terrifying and antagonistic after a bleak atmosphere has already been set. I use industrial harsh noise loops, tense frequencies and spoken word to do my best to show you what that moment was like, when I looked out at a sight that once awed me and washed me in peace, and I was overcome with grief instead, and frankly what its like to live with this thing the doctors call "PTSD."
